Why We’re Called EchoBay Global — A Founder’s Story About Vision, Purpose & Building Bridges
Every brand begins with a question.
For EchoBay Global, the question was simple but powerful:
“How do we help Australian brands be truly seen, heard, and trusted by global travellers — especially Chinese consumers who love quality Australian products but often don’t know where to look?”
EchoBay Global was born not just as a business, but as a bridge — a platform designed to echo the stories of Australian craftsmanship across borders, cultures, and continents.
And today, I’d like to share why we are called EchoBay Global, what we stand for, and where we’re going.
🌊 Why “EchoBay”? The Meaning Behind the Name
Our journey began with an official partnership opportunity with Ctrip — a platform represented by its iconic dolphin🐬.
Just like dolphins who navigate the ocean through echolocation, EchoBay stands for clarity, precision, and connection.
But our vision extends far beyond this origin.
The name “EchoBay Global” came from three ideas:
1. “Echo” — Stories That Travel Further Than We Can
We believe every brand has a story worth echoing.
But stories don’t travel on their own — they need platforms, connections, and amplification.
“Echo” represents:
• your brand message carried across cultures
• your values reaching travellers before they land
• your identity repeated, recognised, and remembered
In China, Japan, Southeast Asia — an echo becomes a wave.
2. “Bay” — Australia’s Identity, Warmth & Gateway to the World
A bay is calm, welcoming, open.
It’s a place where journeys begin and where travellers arrive.
“Bay” reflects:
• Australia’s identity as a coastal, open, warm-hearted destination
• a safe harbour for merchants
• a gateway for inbound travellers
It symbolises connection — grounded, beautiful, and distinctly Australian.
3. “Global” — Because Our Vision Has No Borders
From day one, we made a decision:
EchoBay will not be a local business with global dreams — it will be a global business with local roots.
“Global” is a promise:
• to connect Australia with China
• to open pathways between East & West
• to help merchants think bigger and reach further
EchoBay is not just for today — it’s built for the next decade.
